Most of my editing is done on the desktop where all the original images are stored. Now with new install of LR CC on Win 10. Selection tools also do not behave properly and none of my keyboard shortcuts work.
Lightroom allows you to edit the picture once you have imported it but if the device containing the original image is not connected to your computer Lr will grey out the Photoshop option. Just upgraded from Lightroom V44 to V5. Choose the option to reset preferences in the pop-up window.

If you uninstall an older version of Photoshop after installing a newer version some of the data required for Edit In Photoshop could have been removed. If that is not what causes this try restarting your computer. I have Photoshop CS6 currently installed and dont have plans to upgrade to Photoshop CC out of my price. When Im in Lightroom I cant access any of my external editors.
I have been in touch with Adobe about this and they have no answer. Hold down AltOptShift while restarting Lightroom. Ive tried changing preferences for external editor back and forth few times and installing older.
